Nor Yungas ("North Yungas") is one of twenty provinces of the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia and is located in the central part of the department.
location
The province is located on the eastern slopes of the Bolivian Cordillera Real and is bordered to the northwest and west by the province of Murillo , to the south and east by the province of Sud Yungas , and to the north by the province of Caranavi .
The province extends between about 15 ° 58 'and 16 ° 24' south latitude and 67 ° 22 'and 68 ° 00' west longitude, it measures 45 kilometers from north to south and up to 65 kilometers from west to east.

The infant mortality rate is 7.2 percent (1992) to 6.8 percent (2001) declined.
89.9 percent of the population speak Spanish , 67.1 percent speak Aymara , and 2.6 percent speak Quechua . (2001)
41.0 percent of the population have no access to electricity , 84.6 percent live without sanitary facilities (2001) .
81.7 percent of households have a radio, 32.9 percent a television, 13.0 percent a bicycle, 7.6 percent a motorcycle, 4.6 percent a car, 11.8 percent a refrigerator, 3.4 percent a Phone. (2001)
84.6 percent of the population are Catholic , 10.1 percent are Protestant (1992) .
