San Felix is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
San Felix is a neighboring town of Arapata and Dorado Grande and is located in the canton of Arapata in the municipality of Coripata in the province of Nor Yungas . The village is located at an altitude of 1724 m on a ridge that leads from Coroico in a south-easterly direction to the Río Tamampaya , which flows north and flows into the Río Beni .

San Felix is in the transition area between the Altiplano and the Cordillera Real in the west and the foothills of the Amazon lowlands in the east.
The annual precipitation here in the subtropical Yungas is 1100 mm (see Coroico climate diagram) and has a clear dry season from May to August and a rainy season from December to February. The monthly average temperatures fluctuate only slightly between 20 ° C and 25 ° C, during the day it is warm in summer and pleasantly cool at night.
Transport network
San Felix is located 110 kilometers by road northeast of La Paz , the capital of the department.
From La Paz the asphalted highway Ruta 3 leads in a northeasterly direction 52 kilometers to Cotapata and from there as a gravel road over 35 kilometers to Coroico . Here the Ruta 40 branches off to the southeast and reaches Arapata after 22 kilometers . From there a country road leads east to Marquirivi and after four kilometers past Dorado Grande reaches the village of San Felix .

Due to the historical population development in the Municipio Coripata, the Aymara population is predominant, 72.3 percent of the population speak the Aymara language .
