Christian Kraus (born 1971 in Hamburg ) is a German writer and thriller author . The doctor with a doctorate in psychiatry and psychotherapy works full-time as a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist in his own practice in Hamburg.

life and work

Christian Kraus was born in Hamburg in 1971 and grew up in the Hamburg area. After graduating from high school, he studied medicine and trained as a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf . He specialized in forensic psychiatry as well as psychoanalysis and sex therapy . Christian Kraus started writing when he was a teenager. During his time in the clinic, he published a number of scientific papers on psychiatric topics, but ultimately the passion for fiction writing won, in which he allowed his knowledge of the human psyche and its abysses to flow.

In 2010 his debut novel The Soul Dark Side was published by Ellert & Richter Verlag . After moving to Droemer Knaur , he became known to a wider audience through the psychological thriller Kill What You Love and Nothing Will Stay With , which was released in 2018 and 2019. The portrayal of the protagonists' emotional conflicts and the design of the villains, their psychological backgrounds, fates and tragedy occupy a special place in his novels.

Christian Kraus is married and has one daughter. He lives with his family in the east of Hamburg.
