Muñecas is one of twenty provinces in the Bolivian department of La Paz and is located in the western part of the department.
Surname
The province bears the name of the Caudillos Idelfonso de las Muñecas , who fought for Upper Peru (Alto Perú) during the War of Independence . The province was given this name when it was founded on October 18, 1826.
location
The province is located on the eastern slopes of the Bolivian Cordillera Real and borders in the west on the province of Eliodoro Camacho , in the south on the province Omasuyos , in the east on the province Larecaja , and in the north on the province of Bautista Saavedra .
The province extends between about 15 ° 08 'and 15 ° 48' south latitude and 68 ° 26 'and 69 ° 00' west longitude, it measures 65 kilometers from north to south and up to 40 kilometers from west to east.
