Yolosa is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Yolosa is a village in the canton of Pacollo in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Coroico in the province of Nor Yungas . The municipality is located at an altitude of 1200 m on the banks of the Río Yolosa, about 3 km above its confluence with the Río Coroico , which flows downstream into the Río Kaka , a tributary of the Río Beni .

Yolosa located on the eastern edge of the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Yungas , a transition region between the Andean highlands ( altiplano ) and the tropical lowlands of the Amazon - rainforest . The climate is a typical time of day climate in which the mean temperature fluctuations during the day are more pronounced than during the year.
The annual average temperature of the village is around 22 ° C (see climate diagram Choro), the monthly average values fluctuate between 19 ° C in June / July and 23 ° C from October to March. Yolosa is the end point of many La Paz guided Death Road mountain bike tours along Yungas Road. Therefore, the place has a few restaurants, showers and a zipline.
Transport network
Yolosa is located about 100 km northeast of La Paz , the capital of the department of the same name, and about 4 km south of Yolosita, the traffic junction for Yolosa and Coroico.
From La Paz, the asphalt national road Ruta 3 leads via Yolosita to Santa Bárbara ; from there the Ruta 3 continues in a northeasterly direction via Caranavi , Yucumo and San Ignacio de Moxos to Trinidad on the Río Mamoré .

Due to the historical population development, the Aymara population is predominant in the Municipio Coroico , 62.1 percent of the population speak the Aymara language .
