Yucumo is a country town in the Beni department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Yucumo is the second largest city in the district (Spanish: Municipio ) of San Borja in the province of Ballivián . The city is located at an altitude of 261 m at the southeast end of the ridge of the Sierra Muchanes .
geography
Yucumo is located in the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin east of the country's mountain ranges in a year-round humid climate. The mean average temperature of the region is 26 ° C (see climate diagram Rurrenabaque) and fluctuates only slightly between 23 ° C in June and July and a good 27 ° C from October to December. The annual precipitation is almost 2000 mm, with a pronounced rainy season from December to March with 200-300 mm monthly precipitation and the lowest monthly values just under 100 mm from July to September.
Transport network
Yucumo is located 281 kilometers west of Trinidad , the capital of the department, and fifty kilometers southwest of San Borja , the administrative center of the municipality.
The largely unpaved road Ruta 3 leads from Trinidad in a westerly direction via San Ignacio de Moxos and San Borja to Yucumo . From there it continues for 321 km in a south-westerly direction via Quiquibey , Caranavi and the La Cumbre pass to La Paz .
In Yucumo, Ruta 8 branches off in a northerly direction and leads via Rurrenabaque and Reyes to Riberalta and Guayaramerín on the Brazilian border.
