The province of Ballivián (complete: Provincia del General José Ballivián Segurola ) is a province in the western part of the Beni department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia . It bears its name in honor of President José Ballivián (1805-1852).
location
The province is one of eight provinces in the Beni department. It borders on the Pando Department in the northwest, the La Paz Department in the west, the Moxos Province in the south, the Yacuma Province in the east , and the Vaca Díez Province in the north .
The province extends between 12 ° 00 'and 15 ° 42' south latitude and 66 ° 17 'and 67 ° 32' west longitude, its extent from west to east is up to 140 kilometers, from north to south 550 kilometers.

The province of Ballivián is divided into the following four municipalities :

- 08-0302 Municipio San Borja (8,542 km²) in the south-eastern part of the province - 40,864 inhabitants - 4.8 inhabitants / km²
- 08-0303 Municipio Santa Rosa de Yacuma (9,706 km²) in the north-eastern part of the province - 9,395 inhabitants - 1.0 inhabitants / km²
- 08-0304 Municipio Rurrenabaque (2,820 km²) in the south-western part of the province - 19,195 inhabitants - 6.8 inhabitants / km²
