Puerto Cavinas (also: Puerto Cavina ) is a town in the Beni department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Puerto Cavinas is the central place of the canton Cavinas in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Reyes in the province Ballivián . Puerto Cavinas is located at an altitude of 305  m on the right, eastern bank of the Río Beni , seven kilometers downstream from the mouth of the Río Madidi .

From Trinidad, the largely unpaved highway Ruta 3 leads 281 kilometers west to Yucumo , from there Ruta 8 northwards 124 kilometers via Rurrenabaque to Reyes . From there, Ruta 8 continues in a north-easterly direction via Santa Rosa de Yacuma , El Triunfo , Santa Teresa del Yata and Comunidad Australia to Riberalta and Guayaramerin on the Brazilian border.
