Puerto Cavinas (also: Puerto Cavina ) is a town in the Beni department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Puerto Cavinas is the central place of the canton Cavinas in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Reyes in the province Ballivián . Puerto Cavinas is located at an altitude of 305 m on the right, eastern bank of the Río Beni , seven kilometers downstream from the mouth of the Río Madidi .

Puerto Cavinas is located in the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin east of the country's mountain ranges in a year-round humid climate.
The mean average temperature of the region is 26 ° C (see climate diagram Rurrenabaque) and fluctuates only slightly between 23 ° C in June and July and a good 27 ° C from October to December. The annual precipitation is almost 2000 mm, with a pronounced rainy season from December to March with 200-300 mm monthly precipitation and the lowest monthly values just under 100 mm from July to September.

Puerto Cavinas is 723 kilometers west of Trinidad , the capital of the department, by road.
From Trinidad, the largely unpaved highway Ruta 3 leads 281 kilometers west to Yucumo , from there Ruta 8 northwards 124 kilometers via Rurrenabaque to Reyes . From there, Ruta 8 continues in a north-easterly direction via Santa Rosa de Yacuma , El Triunfo , Santa Teresa del Yata and Comunidad Australia to Riberalta and Guayaramerin on the Brazilian border.
Six kilometers before Comunidad Australia a dirt road branches off to the north and continues for another 76 kilometers to Puerto Cavina .
