Reyes is a small town in the Beni department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Reyes is the administrative seat of the province of Ballivián and the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Reyes . The city is located at an altitude of 188  m in the Bolivian lowlands on the right bank of the Río Beni , about fifteen kilometers from the river.

Reyes is located in the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin east of the country's mountain ranges in a year-round humid climate.

The mean average temperature of the region is 26 ° C (see climate diagram Rurrenabaque) and fluctuates only slightly between 23 ° C in June and July and a good 27 ° C from October to December. The annual precipitation is almost 2000 mm, with a pronounced rainy season from December to March with 200 to 300 mm monthly precipitation and the lowest monthly values ​​just under 100 mm from July to September.

Transport network

Reyes is 405 kilometers by road west of Trinidad , the capital of the department.

From Trinidad, the largely unpaved road Ruta 3 leads 281 kilometers west to Yucumo , from there Ruta 8 north 99 kilometers to Rurrenabaque , and then after another 25 kilometers it reaches Reyes . It continues in a north-easterly direction to Riberalta and Guayaramerin on the Brazilian border.

The city has a small airport, Reyes Airfield .
