The Ruta 8 is a national road in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Routing

The road has a length of 696 km and crosses the western part of the Beni department in a north-south direction . It begins in the Bolivian lowlands on the border with Brazil and runs roughly parallel to the Río Beni along the Moxos plain to the eastern edge of the Bolivian Voranden .

The northernmost section of Ruta 8, from Guayaramerín to Riberalta , is already paved, as is the southernmost section, from Yucumo to Rurrenabaque . It is planned to continue the asphalting of the area in between, so that the entire Ruta 8 should be asphalted in the near future.

history

The Ruta 8 was declared part of the Bolivian national road network " Red Vial Fundamental " by decree 25.134 of August 31, 1998 .
