List of national roads in Bolivia
The Bolivian national road network (Spanish: Rutas Nacionales ) has a total length of 16,029 km. (As of 2006)
The basic network was established with the Decreto Supremo 25134 of August 21, 1998 with a length of 10,401 kilometers, consisting of 17 national roads. The Ruta 16 does not exist continuously even today, which is why the length is only an estimate.

Road conditions
28% (4,514 km) of Bolivia's national road network is asphalted and 40% (6,455 km) has a gravel surface , while 32% (5,060 km) of the trunk roads still have a surface of compacted and rammed earth.
Since the climate, especially in the lowlands, is characterized by extensive rainy seasons , this situation repeatedly leads to poor traffic conditions.
