Colquiri is a small town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Colquiri is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Colquiri in the province of Inquisivi . The village is located at an altitude of 4303 m between the mountain valleys of the southern Serranía de Sicasica near the lake Laguna Bornuni .

Colquiri is located between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Amazon lowlands in the east. The region has a distinctive time-of-day climate in which the mean temperature fluctuations during the day are more pronounced than during the year.

Colquiri is located at a distance of 226 kilometers by road southeast of La Paz , the capital of the department.
The paved road Ruta 1 leads past La Paz, which leads from Lake Titicaca in a south-easterly direction via Caracollo and the departmental capitals Oruro , Potosí and Tarija to Bermejo on the Argentine border. Colquiri is connected to Ruta 1 via the unpaved road Ruta 44 , which runs 42 kilometers in a south-westerly direction from Colquiri to Caracollo .
