Serranía de Sicasica

The Serranía de Sicasica is a mountain range within the Bolivian Cordillera Central .

The Serranía de Sicasica is the westernmost mountain range of the Cordillera Septentrional , the middle section of the Bolivian Cordillera Central. It extends between the major cities of La Paz in the north and Oruro in the south and has a length of about 200 km and an average width of 20 km. The ridges of the Serranía de Sicasica are often over 4000 m, the summit of Wila Kkolu at 4,838 m is one of its highest elevations .

Along the Serranía de Sicasica runs in the west the highway Ruta 1 from La Paz via Patacamaya , Sica Sica and Caracollo to Oruro, the valleys between the ridges of the Serranía are only sparsely populated; the most important place there is Luribay , capital of the Loayza province .
