The Ruta 44 is a national road in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Routing

The road has a length of 42 kilometers and runs from the region of the Bolivian Altiplano into the high mountain ridge of the Serranía de Sicasica .

The Ruta 44 runs from southwest to northeast from the northeastern part of the Oruro department to the southeast corner of the La Paz department . The road begins at the city of Caracollo on Ruta 1 at the junction of Ruta 4 , which branches off to the southeast towards the metropolis of Cochabamba . The route 44 leads in a north-easterly direction into the poor mountain region of the Serranía de Sicasica, crosses the border to the La Paz department and after only 42 kilometers reaches the city of Colquiri , where it ends for the time being.

The Ruta 44 consists of gravel and dirt roads along its entire length, but is currently being paved (as of 2018).

history

With Ley 3345 of February 10, 2006, the road was declared part of the Bolivian national road network Red Vial Fundamental .
