The Ruta 21 is a national road in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Routing
The road has a length of 197 kilometers and crosses the southeastern part of the Potosí department from northwest to southeast. The road starts at the town of Uyuni in the salt lake Salar de Uyuni at the intersection with Route 5 , to the north sits the Ruta 21 as Ruta 30 , and performs after Challapata on the east bank of the Poopó Lake , where they on the Ruta 1 encounters . From Uyuni, the Ruta 21 crosses the sparsely populated Altiplano region between the Cordillera de Lípez in the south and the Cordillera de Chichas , the peaks of which reach heights of up to 5800 m. It runs parallel to the railway line that runs from Uyuni via Tupiza to Villazón on the Argentine border. The Ruta 21 ends at Tupiza at the Ruta 14 , the direction of Potosí coming leads to Villazón.
The Ruta 21 is paved for almost its entire length.

Ruta 21 has been declared part of the Bolivian national road network " Red Vial Fundamental " by law 2187 of April 12, 2001 .
