Iténez is a province in the eastern part of the Beni department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

location

The province is one of eight provinces in the Beni department. It borders in the west on the province of Mamoré , in the southwest on the province of Cercado , in the southeast on the department of Santa Cruz , and in the east and north on the Republic of Brazil .

The province extends roughly between 12 ° 25 'and 14 ° 15' south latitude and 61 ° 30 'and 64 ° 25' west longitude, its extent from west to east is up to 390 kilometers, from north to south 260 kilometers.

The population of the province of Cercado has increased by about a third over the past two decades:

The province of Iténez was divided into the following three municipalities in the 2012 census :

  • 08-0801 Municipio Magdalena (14,156 km²) in the north-western part of the province - 11,277 inhabitants - 0.8 inhabitants / km²
  • 08-0802 Municipio Baures (21,684 km²) in the eastern part of the province - 5,965 inhabitants - 0.3 inhabitants / km²
  • 08-0803 Municipio Huacaraje (5,446 km²) in the south-western part of the province - 4,111 inhabitants - 0.8 inhabitants / km²
