Versalles is a town in the Beni department in the lowlands of the South American landlocked state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Versalles is the central place of the canton of Versalles and is located in the administrative district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Magdalena in the province of Iténez at an altitude of 148 m on the left bank of the Río Iténez ( Brazilian : Río Guaporé), which flows into the Río Mamoré .

The climate in the Versalles area is characterized by a balanced temperature curve that is typical of the tropics with only minor fluctuations and an annual average temperature of almost 27 ° C (see Magdalena climate diagram). The annual precipitation is more than 1,400 mm, with a significant wet season from November to March, and a dry season in the months June to August.

Transport network
Versalles is 300 kilometers as the crow flies to the northeast from Trinidad , the capital of the department, directly on the Brazilian border formed by the Río Iténez.
Versalles cannot be reached by land, there are no road connections to the nearest cities Magdalena and Baures , which are 75 to 100 kilometers further south-west. Versalles can be reached either by water via the Río Iténez, or by air, as the town has an approximately 800 meter long runway directly on the banks of the Iténez.
