The municipality of Huacaraje is a district in the Beni department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Huacaraje is one of three municipalities in the Iténez province and is located in the southwestern part of the province. It borders the Municipio Magdalena to the north, the Province of Mamoré to the west, the Province of Cercado to the south , and the Municipio Baures to the east .

The central place of the municipality is the rural town of Huacaraje with 2,053 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the northeastern part of the municipality.

The municipality of Huacaraje is located in the Bolivian lowlands almost one hundred kilometers southwest of the border with Brazil . The climate in the Huacaraje area is characterized by a balanced temperature curve typical of the tropics with only minor fluctuations.

The annual mean temperature is almost 27 ° C, the monthly values ​​fluctuate between 25 ° C in June / July and 28 ° C in October. The annual precipitation is more than 1,400 mm, with a significant wet season from November to March, and a dry season in the months June to August.
