The Municipio Baures is a district in the Beni department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Baures is one of three Municipios of the Province of Iténez and is located in the southeastern part of the province. It borders the Municipio Magdalena in the northwest , the Municipio Huacaraje in the west, the Province of Cercado in the southwest, the Santa Cruz Department in the southeast , and the Republic of Brazil in the northeast .

The largest town and central place in the municipality is the rural town of Baures with 2,127 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) on the western border of the district.

The Municipio Baures is located in the lowlands on the Bolivian eastern border with Brazil . The climate in the region is characterized by a balanced temperature curve typical of the tropics with only minor fluctuations.

The annual average temperature is just under 27 ° C (see Magdalena climate diagram), the monthly values ​​fluctuate between 25 ° C in June / July and 28 ° C in October. The annual precipitation is more than 1,400 mm, with a significant wet season from November to March, and a dry season in the months June to August.
