Yacuma is a province in the central part of the Beni department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

location

The province is one of eight provinces in the Beni department. It borders the province of Ballivián to the west, the province of Moxos to the south, the province of Cercado to the southeast , the province of Mamoré to the east , and the province of Vaca Díez to the north .

The province extends approximately between 12 ° 00 'and 15 ° 28' south latitude and 65 ° 00 'and 66 ° 37' west longitude, its extent from west to east is up to 110 kilometers, from north to south 285 kilometers.

The population of Yacuma Province has decreased slightly over the past two decades:

84.2 percent of the population are Catholic , 12.2 percent are Protestant (1992) .

The province of Yacuma was divided into the following two Municipios (districts) at the 2012 census :

  • 08-0401 Municipio Santa Ana del Yacuma (20,897 km²) in the southern part of the province - 18,036 inhabitants - 0.86 inhabitants / km²
  • 08-0402 Municipio Exaltación (25,049 km²) in the northern part of the province - 6,362 inhabitants - 0.25 inhabitants / km²
