Quiquibey is a town in the Beni department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Quiquibey is a village in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) of San Borja in the province of Ballivián . The place is located at an altitude of 578 m on the right, eastern bank of the Río Quiquibey , which separates the departments of La Paz and Beni downstream from here until it flows into the Río Beni a few kilometers before Rurrenabaque .

Quiquibey lies between the northeastern ridges of the Serranía Marimonos , a section of the Voranden chains of the Cordillera Oriental . The region's climate is subtropical and humid all year round .
The mean average temperature of the region is just under 24 ° C (see Quiquibey climate diagram) and fluctuates only slightly between 21 ° C in June and July and around 25 ° C from October to January. Annual rainfall is around 1700 mm, with moderate monthly rainfall of 40 to 60 mm from June to August, and a pronounced rainy season from December to March with monthly rainfall of 200 to 250 mm.

Quiquibey is 322 kilometers by road southwest of Trinidad , the capital of the department.
By Quiquibey 600 kilometers takes highway Ruta 3 from La Paz to Trinidad . With the exception of a 50-kilometer section east of La Paz, the road is largely unpaved and therefore not always easy to drive on depending on the weather conditions. It leads from La Paz via Cotapata , Sapecho and Inicua to Quiquibey and on via Yucumo , San Borja and San Ignacio de Moxos to Trinidad .
