Nuevos Horizontes (also: Nuevo Horizonte) is a town in the Beni department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Nuevos Horizontes is the second largest town in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Rurrenabaque in the province of Ballivián . Nuevos Horizontes is located about 250  m above sea level in the west of the Moxos plain, not far from the town of Rurrenabaque .

Nuevos Horizontes is located in the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin directly north of the foothills in a year-round humid climate.

The mean average temperature of the region is 26 ° C (see climate diagram Rurrenabaque) and fluctuates only slightly between 23 ° C in June and July and a good 27 ° C from October to December. Nuevos Horizontes is 350 kilometers west of Trinidad , the capital of the department, by road.

The largely unpaved road Ruta 3 runs from Trinidad for 281 kilometers west to Yucumo . From there, Ruta 8 heads north via Nuevos Horizontes to Rurrenabaque and on via Reyes to Riberalta and Guayaramerín on the Brazilian border.

The distance to Rurrenabaque is 35 kilometers.
