course

The Río Coroico has its origin at the edge of the eastern Andean chain of the Cordillera Real at the confluence of the Río Huarinilla and Río Yolosa at an altitude of 1064  m in the La Paz department . From this point the Río Coroico flows for the first 50 km in a northeast direction to the confluence of the Río Taypiplaya near the city of Caranavi and then turns to the northwest. The river begins its route in the province of Nor Yungas and then crosses the province of Caranavi to the town of Alcoche . On its last 40 km, the Río Coroico in the province of Larecaja forms the border between the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Guanay and the Municipio Teoponte , before it flows into the Río Kaka after a total of 115 km at an altitude of 411  m . The Río Kaka in turn reaches the Río Beni after 92 km .
