The Municipio Tacacoma is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Tacacoma is one of eight Municipios of the Larecaja Province and is located in the northwestern part of the province. It borders in the north on the province of Bautista Saavedra , in the west on the province of Muñecas , in the south-west on the municipality Quiabaya , in the south and southeast on the municipality Sorata , and in the northeast on the municipality Mapiri .

The municipality has a length of 55 kilometers from northeast to southwest and a width of about 20 kilometers from northwest to southeast. The municipality has 100 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is Tacacoma with 794 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the southwestern part of the district.

The municipality of Tacacoma is located in the high mountain range of the Cordillera Real on the northern foothills of the Illampú massif.

The mean average temperature of the region is 18 ° C (see Sorata climate diagram), the annual precipitation is a little more than 600 mm.
