The Municipio Charazani (also: General Juan José Pérez) is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality Charazani is one of two municipalities in the province of Bautista Saavedra and is located in the eastern part of the province. It is bordered on the northwest by the Curva Municipality , on the west by the Republic of Peru , on the southwest by the province Eliodoro Camacho , on the south by the muñecas province , in the southeast of the province Larecaja , and on the northeast by the province Franz Tamayo .

The central place of the municipality is Charazani with 723 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the southwestern part of the municipality, the largest town is Amarete with 3,304 inhabitants south of Charazani.

The Municipio Charazani is located on the Bolivian Altiplano in the Cordillera Apolobamba , the northern section of the Bolivian Cordillera Central . The region has a distinct daytime climate, with temperature fluctuations being greater during the day than during the year.

The mean average temperature of the region is around 15 ° C (see climate diagram Charazani), the monthly mean temperatures fluctuate only insignificantly between 12 ° C in July and 16 ° C from January to March.
