The Estadio Panamericano de Cuba is a multi-purpose stadium in Havana , Cuba . It was inaugurated in the spring of 1991 to mark the XI. Host Pan American Games in Havana. The name of the stadium "Panamericano" is due to the fact that it was built exclusively as the main venue for the Pan American Games .
In 2008 the stadium was completely renovated and a new synthetic track was installed in accordance with the guidelines of the International Athletics Federation (IAAF).
