Estany de les Truites

Estany de les Truites is a mountain lake in the mountainous region of Coma Pedrosa in the Principality of Andorra .

It is located at an altitude of 2263 meters above sea level in the immediate vicinity of the Refugi de Coma Pedrosa refuge in the municipality of La Massana . The name les Truites means trout in German , the Truita fario lake trout , which occur in the oxygen-rich lake Estany de les Truites, gave the lake its name.

The lake is fed by unnamed sources and meltwater and by a manmade dam dammed. The lake water flows off to the east via the Riu de Goma , which flows into the Riu Pollós at St. Gothard . The lake can be reached via a hiking route from the Aparcament Estació d'esquí d'Arinsal car park at an altitude of 1900 meters in around two hours on foot.
