Esther Niewerth-Baumann (born September 20, 1968 in Oldenburg ) is a German lawyer and politician of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU).

Life

The daughter of the lawyer and politician Heinrich Niewerth studied law at the University of Münster . She works as a lawyer.

In 2013 and 2017 Esther Niewerth-Baumann stood for the CDU in the Oldenburg-Nord / West electoral district . Although she was defeated by the SPD candidates, in 2017 she was able to enter the Lower Saxony state parliament via the state list . There she was elected spokeswoman for the CDU parliamentary group for the penal system and criminal assistance.

Esther Niewerth-Baumann is married and has three children.
