Dörte Liebetruth (born November 23, 1979 in Bremen ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2017 .

Life

Liebetruth grew up in Kirchlinteln . After graduating from high school in 1999 at the Wall am Wall in Verden (Aller) , she studied media management, applied communication research and law at the University of Music, Theater and Media and the University of Hanover . In 2004 she completed her studies as a media scientist. From 2005 to 2009 she worked part-time as a research assistant in the offices of the Bundestag members Lars Klingbeil and Joachim Stünker . She then prepared for her doctoral thesis and, in 2011, received a scholarship from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation with the dissertation topic Anchoring Europe locally as a Dr. phil. PhD . She then worked as a research assistant in the office of MEP Bernd Lange .

In February 2013, Liebetruth moved to the Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Equal Opportunities , where she became the personal advisor to Minister Cornelia Rundt . From May 2015 to December 2016 she was a consultant for work, integration, social affairs and health at the Representation of the State of Lower Saxony at the federal government and from January to October 2017 head of the office for the “Inclusion Action Plan for a Barrier-Free Lower Saxony” and a consultant in the “Inclusion of People with Disabilities ”in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Social Affairs.

Liebetruth has been a member of the district council in the Verden district since 2016 and is chairwoman of the committee for social affairs and health. In the 2017 state elections , she was elected as a direct candidate in constituency 61 (Verden) for the SPD in the Lower Saxony state parliament.

Liebetruth is a member of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt , the Achim History Workshop, the Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation , the European Union and the United Service Union . She lives in Kirchlinteln.
