The screed layer is a state-recognized training occupation in Germany according to the Vocational Training Act and the Crafts Code .

Duration of training and structure

The training period to become a screed layer is usually three years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school . The job is part of the level training in the construction industry. He represents the second stage to the construction worker .

Work areas

Screed layers produce screeds from different materials. To do this, they prepare the substrate, produce screed mortar and process it. They apply floating screeds , composite screeds or screeds on separating layers , apply synthetic resin layers and build cavity and double floors. They also lay top floors made of panels, strips and laminates . If necessary, they also install insulation materials for heat, cold and noise protection. Screed layers work in new buildings and renovations.

Training allowance

The amount of the training allowance is often based on collective bargaining agreements . The Bauindustrieverband Hamburg e. V. has agreed, for example, the following remuneration (as of 2016):

  1. Year of training: 708 euros
  2. Year of training: 1,088 euros
  3. Year of training: 1,374 euros
