Etbaal
Etbaal was from 887 to 856 BC. King of Sidon . He belonged to the priestly elite of the city and possibly the Hiram I dynasty . According to the account in Book 1 of Kings , he was the father-in-law of the Israelite King Ahab , who was married to his daughter Jezebel .
According to recent research, he was also king of Tire . He is said to have paid tribute to Aššur-nâṣir-apli II . Inscriptions on his banquet stele also suggest that Eth-Baʾal was one of the invited guests at the grand opening of his new palace in Kalḫu .
