Ettlingenweier has been part of Ettlingen in the Karlsruhe district in Baden-Württemberg since it was incorporated in 1974 .
history
The area Ettlingenweiers was, as can be seen from relevant finds, already settled in Roman times during the first century after the birth of Christ.
Ettlingenweier is first mentioned in a document around 1100 as part of a donation to Hirsau Abbey. In the course of the Middle Ages, ownership changed at the place until it came to the Margraviate of Baden via the Counts of Eberstein . For reasons of administrative simplification, the Weier staff was formed under the Margraves of Baden in 1307 from Ettlingenweier, Bruchhausen and Oberweier . The staff existed as a court and market cooperative district for about 500 years and was led by Ettlingenweier through mayor and court. In 1809 the police separated the communities belonging to the Weiler staff.
On October 1, 1974 Ettlingenweier was incorporated into Ettlingen by incorporation contract as part of the municipal reform.

church
A church in Ettlingenweier was first mentioned in a document in 1110. In 1150 a Gothic village church was built on the same site, which in turn was replaced by a new baroque church in 1788. The church is dedicated to St. Dionysius, a 3rd century martyr, missionary in Gaul and first bishop of Paris. He is one of the 14 helpers in need.

The local association of the CDU Ettlingenweier and the local association of the SPD Ettlingenweier / Oberweier can be found at political associations.
The ecclesiastical Cäcilienverein Ettlingenweier can still be found. The German Red Cross has a local association in Ettlingweier and the Ettlingenweier volunteer fire brigade provides fire protection and general help.
The GroKaGe Ettlingenweier 1951 eV and the fruit and horticultural association Ettlingenweier as well as the VdK Ettlingenweier should also be mentioned.
