Eucerin

Eucerin is a registered trademark of the Beiersdorf AG Group . It is used for a skin care series which Beiersdorf calls medical skin care and which is tailored to certain functional disorders and clinical pictures ( seborrhea , sebostasis , acne , neurodermatitis ). In addition to face and body care, the Eucerin range currently also includes products for sun protection, scalp and hair and body cleaning. In the pharmaceutical sector, the brand name Eucerin is used for wool wax alcohol ointment ( Eucerinum anhydricum anhydrous or Eucerinum cum aqua aqueous ).

In 1900 the chemist Dr. Isaac Lifschütz , for the first time to produce a durable and smooth ointment base with the help of Eucerit as an emulsifier , which was named Eucerin . In 1902 Lifschütz received the patent for its development. In 1911, Oscar Troplowitz , the owner of Beiersdorf AG, acquired the patent rights and a few years later launched the first Eucerin products ( iodine cream , powder). In 1950 the pH5 Eucerin ointment was added, which was supposed to preserve the skin's natural protective acid mantle.

In 1976 the company began producing lotions for medical full body care. In the 1990s, the Laceran skin care series followed with urea for very dry skin (today it is also called Eucerin ). Face care products have also been available since 1996.
