Eugène Meiltz

Eugène Meiltz , pseudonym : Eugène (born July 15, 1969 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian writer who lives in Switzerland.

Life

Eugène Meiltz's parents emigrated from Romania in 1975. He and his brother stayed with the grandmother in Bucharest until the parents were able to come to her in 1976.

Meilz grew up in Lausanne francophone, studied literature at the University of Lausanne and then worked as a freelance journalist under the stage name Eugène for Radio Suisse Romande and for the daily newspaper Le Nouveau Quotidien . He teaches creative writing at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel . Eugène was President of the Swiss Writers' Association (AdS) between 2000 and 2002 .

Eugène wrote five plays, for which he found world premieres in Lausanne, Pully and Mézières . He wrote a travel guide for Pamukkale and some children's books. After the stories Quinze mètres de gloire and L'ouvre-boîtes , he published the autobiographical novel La vallée de la jeunesse in 2007 , for which he received the “Prix des auditeurs de la RSR”. In 2014 the novel was translated into German.
