Eugene Madeux
Eugen Madeux (born July 26, 1810 in Arlesheim ; † February 13, 1886 there ) was a politician in the Swiss canton of Basel-Landschaft .
He was a member of the so-called party of order in the newly founded canton of Basel-Landschaft. 1837–1838 and 1878–1886 he was in the district administrator and 1838–1853 in the government council . There he was responsible for education and churches . 1851-1854 he belonged to the parliamentary group of the left in the Council of States . After his resignation from the federal parliament, he practiced his traditional profession again - he was a farmer . 1871-1877 he was the mayor of Arlesheim . As such, in 1854 he was a proponent of founding the Basellandschaftliche Zeitung . His last mandate was a seat on the bank council of the Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank from 1884.
