Eugen Schusteritsch

Eugen Schusteritsch (born August 30, 1913 in Ödenburg ; † March 8, 1994 in Bad Wimpfen ) was a German expellee functionary. He was honorary chairman of the cultural association for Ödenburg and the surrounding area in Bad Wimpfen and holder of the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .

Life

After the expulsion of the Hungarian Germans, Schusteritsch campaigned for the preservation of the history and traditions of his hometown Ödenburg. He also published a home book published in 1964 and numerous smaller publications. He belonged to the cultural association for Ödenburg and the surrounding area in Bad Wimpfen, where many Ödenburgers had come after the expulsion. He was chairman of the association for twelve years and was made honorary chairman in 1988. He pushed the establishment of the Ödenburger Heimatmuseum in Bad Wimpfen as well as the town partnership between Sopron and Bad Wimpfen. His awards include the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon, the Medal of Honor of the Burgenland Provincial Government and the Letter of Honor as well as the Golden Badge of Honor of the Landsmannschaft der Germans from Hungary .
