Georgine von Januschofsky , also Georgine von Januschowsky , married Georgine Neuendorff (born October 4, 1849 in Olomouc ; † September 6, 1914 in New York ) was an Austrian-American theater actress and opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Januschofsky began her career as an actress ( Laibach , Freiburg im Breisgau , Theater an der Wien ), later she also worked as a soubrette ( Stuttgart , Leipzig ). In 1880 she was committed to New York by her future husband Adolf Neuendorff (married in Cohasset, Massachusetts in 1891 ). Over the next few decades she sang on numerous stages in the USA and in German-speaking countries.

family

Januschofsky was the daughter of the officer and later editor Georg Ohm-Januschowsky (1813-1867). The teacher and dialect writer Alexander Ohm-Januschowsky and the railway inspector and cultural journalist Julius Ohm-Januschowsky (1851-1932) were her brothers.
