Eugene Sellin

Eugen Sellin (born February 4, 1865 in Danzig ; † February 4, 1920 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Sellin attended elementary school and then worked as a carpenter and foreman, most recently as manager of a large construction company. From 1910 to 1913 he was a cigar dealer in Gdansk and in January 1914 until his death he was the clerk of the OKK Danziger Niederung.

In 1890 he was a co-founder and long-time SPD chairman in Danzig. From 1890 he was the SPD shop steward for West Prussia. He was a co-founder and long-time chairman of the branch of the carpenters 'association and the carpenters' trade association in Gdansk and from 1894 to 1896 chairman of the Gdansk trade union cartel. From 1894 he was chairman of the union agitation commission for West Prussia. From 1901 he was an employee representative at the Reich Insurance Office . In the Reichstag election in 1912 , he ran in the Reichstag constituency of Gdansk 4 and received 316 votes, which corresponded to 1.2%. After the November Revolution of 1918, he was elected to the Prussian State Constitutional Assembly in 1919 . He was of Protestant denomination and later left the church.
