Eugenie Fiocre
Eugénie Fiocre (born July 2, 1845 in Paris , † June 6, 1908 ) was a French dancer.
Eugenie Fiocre was prima donna at the Paris Opera from 1864 to 1875 . Marquise de Crequi de Courtivron-Monfert after marriage in 1870. She was known for her trouser roles, so she played Franz in the world premiere of Léo Delibe's opera Coppélia in 1870 .
Its fame was mainly due to the fact that it was immortalized in the works of Degas and Carpeaux:
- Edgar Degas ' painting Mlle Fiocre in the Ballet La Source (1868) hangs in the Brooklyn Museum in New York.
- Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux 's (1827–1875) portrait bust by Fiocre (1869) is in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris .
