Eugenijus Laurinaitis

Eugenijus Laurinaitis (* 1951 in Klaipėda ) is a Lithuanian psychiatrist and psychotherapist , group therapist , professor at the Department of Psychology .

Life

From the age of 5 he lived in Šiauliai . After graduating from high school in 1969 in the 23rd Vilnius Middle School , he completed his studies and internatures in surgery in 1975 and psychiatry in 1977 at the Medical Faculty of Vilnius University (VU). In 1978 he continued his education at the Leningrad Medical Institute ( Russia ). There he studied psychotherapy . In 1986 he received his doctorate at the Bechterew Research Institute for Psychiatry and Neurosciences in Leningrad as a candidate in medical sciences. He wrote the dissertation " Clinical-psychological characteristics of cardiac patients in the pre- and postoperative phase. In 1994 his dissertation was nostrified.

From 1989 he taught at the psychiatric clinic as an assistant. He established the Lithuanian Hypnosis Association . As a founder, he was its first president from 1986 to 1990. Laurinaitis has been teaching as a lecturer at the University of Vilnius (VU) and as a professor at the Institute of Psychology at the Mykolas Romeris University since 1991 . He is also a psychotherapy teacher, president of the Lithuanian Association of Psychotherapy, honorary member of the Association for Group Analysis Society. Since 2013 he has been President of the European Association for Psychotherapy .

Laurinaitis has been married since 1971 and has two daughters. One of them, Agnietė Laurinaitytė, is a psychologist and movement therapist .
