Volksbank Wenden-Drolshagen eG
On January 11, 1874, 34 people founded the Drolshagen Loan Association. On June 4, 1885, the Wenden savings and loan association was founded. In 1913, both banks had total assets of 1.6 million Reichsmarks. In 1972 the two institutes merged to form the Wenden-Drolshagen savings and loan fund . For two years it was renamed Volksbank Wenden-Drolshagen.
Volksbank Olpe eG
On August 2nd, 1925, the first statute of the "Amt Olper Spar- und Kreditskassenverein registered cooperative with unlimited liability" was brought into being. Since 1972 the bank has been operating under the name "Volksbank Olpe eG".
In June 1986 Volksbank Olpe took over Volksbank Rhode by way of a merger. Between 1993 and 1997 the main office of the bank in Olpe was rebuilt and increased. In February 1997 the premises were reopened. In the same year the Rhode branch was redesigned.

In June 2011 the meeting of representatives of Volksbank Olpe and Volksbank Wenden-Drolshagen voted for the merger of the two institutes - retrospectively from January 1, 2011. The merged institute operates under the name "Volksbank Olpe-Wenden-Drolshagen".
