Euglypha ciliata is a freshwater shell amoeba that belongs to the Cercozoa group.
Their shell consists of pebble flakes that clearly overlap. It has short spines. Around the mouth of the bowl there are 6 to 14 teeth, each with an attached hump. The shell amoeba are 60 to 100 micrometers in size and live in peat moss, wet moss and on aquatic plants in forest ponds, also in Central Europe and are common.
