Euphorbia albipollinifera is a species of the genus milkweed ( Euphorbia ) in the family of the milkweed family(Euphorbiaceae). The epithet of the species is derived from the pure white pollen .
description
The succulent Euphorbia albipollinifera is a Medusa head euphorbie . Their main shoot is flattened, spherical, 22 to 30 mm in diameter, which is partially hidden in the ground and has numerous flat, hexagonal leaf cushions with white leaf scars.
The few branches are distributed around a vertex and are up to 7.5 cm long and reach a diameter of one centimeter. They are enlarged at the base and have warty podaria arranged in a spiral . Their leaves are rudimentary and short-lived.
The individual cyathia are stalked up to 20 mm long. The stems are woody, but not thorn-shaped. Their involucra are bell-shaped, up to 7.5 mm in diameter and are green with red stripes. Your nectarium is almost circular and deeply concave, it is brownish and turns green with age.
When sterile, Euphorbia albipollinifera is similar to the species Euphorbia gorgonis , but it has pointed conical podiums and its cyathia are sessile.
Distribution and systematics
Euphorbia albipollinifera is common in the South African province of Eastern Cape .
The species was first described in 1985 by Leslie Charles Leach .
