The Petuelring underground station is a station of the Munich underground and was opened on May 8, 1972.
description
The train station is located in Munich 's Schwabing-West district under Schleißheimer Strasse near the eponymous Petuelring . This was named after the couple Ludwig and Karolina Petuel , who donated one million D-Marks for old Munich residents. The back rail walls are made of concrete in which reliefs of geometric figures are cast. They are highlighted with a golden color. The ceiling with light strips is covered with white aluminum slats, while the floor is covered with an Isar pebble motif. The walls of the mezzanine floors and staircases were clad with greenish ceramic surfaces. The tram stop of the 27 tram that ends here and Schleißheimer Straße can be reached via escalators and a retrofitted elevator .
Since 2020, the petuelring stands along with four other stations of the Olympic subway under monument protection .
