The Untersbergstraße underground station is a train station of the Munich subway . It is served by the U2 line and, since December 12, 2011, by the U7 reinforcement line, which only runs during rush hour.
The station was opened on October 18, 1980 and is located under Deisenhofener Strasse in the Giesing district . The street was named after the Untersberg massif in the German-Austrian border area near Salzburg . Like most of the stations that opened in the 1980s, the back side walls are made of green fiber cement panels . The floor is covered with artificial Isar pebbles, the rows of columns are clad with differently shaded green and brown tiles, with two narrow rows of columns in the middle at the stairways. The ceiling is also equipped with aluminum slats. Escalators and a lift take you to a mezzanine floor with access to the Deisenhofenerstrasse / Untersbergstrasse intersection.
