The underground station Am Hart is a train station of the Munich underground . It is located in the Munich district of the same name, Am Hart, and is served by the U2 underground line.
location
The underground station is below Knorrstrasse , roughly level with Sudetendeutschestrasse. The Wirtshaus am Hart is within walking distance . West of the station lies the Research and Innovation Center of BMW .
history
The Am Hart underground station was designed by the Hilmer + Sattler architectural office. It was opened on November 20, 1993 with the extension of the U2 from Scheidplatz station to Dülferstrasse station .
description
The station has a central platform . Curved white aluminum panels are attached to the ceiling of the station, which reflect the light from the two light strips onto the platform. The side walls are covered with blue mosaic tiles, which are bordered with longitudinal stainless steel bands. The pillars are covered with small white glass tiles.
At the southern end of the platform, a lift, which is framed with glass blocks, leads directly to the surface. Via escalators and fixed stairs you get to a small barrier floor, from where you can reach Knorrstraße on both sides at Troppauer Straße. At the northern end of the platform you come to a bus station at the level of Sudetendeutschestraße. From there, Munich city and regional buses travel to the northern parts of Munich, to the Helmholtz Center Munich and temporarily to Dachau .
In the tunnel to the south, an art class from the Williy Brandt Comprehensive School painted an art installation on the tunnel wall on the left-hand side in the direction of travel between "Am Hart" and "Frankfurter Ring" using blue and white lines and patterns.
