The Harthof underground station is a station of the Munich underground in the Munich district of the same name, Harthof . It is served by the U2 subway line and is on the second trunk line of the Munich subway.
It was opened on November 20, 1993 and has been served by the U2 ever since. The train station, which is located under a green area, was planned by the Obermeyer architectural office with the urban subway department. Originally it was supposed to be called Weyprechtstraße , but eventually it was named after the Harthof district. The station has no pillars and a folded roof structure that serves as a light reflector. The side walls are made of glass tiles with a slight light pink sheen. A red stripe also adorns the side wall.
The underground station has an entrance to the street on Weyprechtstrasse. There is also an elevator system here and a glass pyramid ensures a large amount of light. On the opposite side, the train station can be reached from the green area via a mezzanine.
At Weyprechtstraße you can change to bus line 171, the stops for lines 141 and 170 are a little further away on Hugo-Wolf-Straße. During the night, the N41 night bus runs from Dülferstrasse to Fürstenried West . The U2 runs every ten minutes, during rush hour additional trains run from Harthof underground station to Messestadt Ost underground station , so that this section runs every five minutes.
