The fraunhoferstraße is a station of the lines U1 and U2 of the Munich subway . The U7 reinforcement line, which only runs during rush hour, has also stopped since December 12, 2011. It is located in the Isarvorstadt district , directly under the Fraunhoferstraße that gives it its name . The station runs in a north-west or south-east direction with exits to Klenzestrasse and Baaderstrasse. The southern output is close to the Isar extending Reichenbachbrücke .
The station opened on October 18, 1980. Because of its proximity to the Isar, the station was excavated in two individual tubes using shield driving . These are connected to one another in the station area, which is why the station is characterized by thick columns that are clad with small, yellow mosaic tiles.
At the underground station there is a connection to the tram lines 18 and N27 .
