The Innsbrucker Ring underground station is a transfer station for the Munich underground in the east of the city. The lines U2 to Messestadt Ost and U5 to Neuperlach Süd cross here . In addition, since December 12, 2011, the underground station has been served by the U7 reinforcement line, which only runs during rush hour and turns from trunk line 2 to trunk line 3 at Innsbrucker Ring.

history
The Innsbrucker Ring underground station opened on October 18, 1980. At that time, the U8 (now U2) in the direction of Neuperlach Süd and the U1, which turned east of the middle tracks of the four-track station in the initially existing turning system, before it went from Columbusplatz to Mangfallplatz from 1997 onwards . On October 27, 1988, the U5 reached the Innsbrucker Ring on the outer tracks for the first time. Until the branch of the U2 to Messestadt opened in 1999, the U2 ran together with the U5 to Neuperlach Süd.
