The Neuperlach South Railway Station is one of S-Bahn and U-Bahn shared railway station in Munich Neuperlach . It is one of the six above-ground train stations in the Munich underground network and the only one above-ground on the U5 line .
history
The underground station was opened on October 18, 1980, the S-Bahn stop has been there since December 17, 1977. There, the U5 and the Munich Ost – Kreuzstraße S-Bahn run on three tracks, which are currently off the line S7 is driven on. The S7 runs from Kreuzstrasse via downtown Munich to Wolfratshausen . Track 1 with the outside platform is used by the subway towards the city center. Incoming underground trains stop at platform 2, where platform 3 of the S-Bahn is also located on the central platform (combined platform ). The station is the terminus of the U5 and is designed as a bridge over Carl-Wery-Straße. From 2007 to 2009 the station was rebuilt and received a new roof, displays and signs. At the end of the station there is a parking facility for underground trains. At the end of the 1980s there was a plan to extend the U5 to the DASA site in Ottobrunn . The project has not been pursued since then.
